Winter and spring are very special seasons of the year in the Wildkogel Arena in the state of Salzburg. In winter, Neukirchen has guaranteed snow due to its location, and in spring you can observe the awakening of nature at all altitudes and experience the wonder of nature.

For sporty guests, you can exhaust yourself in Neukirchen and the surrounding areas when skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ice-skating, curling, ski touring, tobogganing, trying mini-bobsleigh, paragliding, archery, winter or snowshoe hiking.

Culture lovers will find culture and local tradition at the traditional festivals and events, Advent markets, Krampuswalking, New Year's Eve traditions, concerts, balls and theatre performances. Museums, exhibitions, show mines and presentations (e.g. in the National Park Centre) turn your holiday into a voyage of discovery.

Ice skating and ice stock

Both Neukirchen as well as neighbouring Bramberg each boast an ice rink in town. Both are floodlit in the evening - a great experience for young and old and fun for the whole family.

The sport of ice stock also looks back on a long tradition, especially here in the Alpine region. Much like curling, this sport is about getting the ice stocks as close to the target as possible. This popular winter sport can also be enjoyed in our holiday region.

Torch-lit hikes

Hiking through the winter scenery of the Wildkogel Arena at night with a torch in hand - a truly unforgettable experience.

Various torch-lit hikes - with a stop at a lodge for a snack or with a night-time snowtube race or simply enjoying the romantic vibes of the peaceful nature - are offered every week.

Watching wildlife feeding

Have you ever seen wild deer or roes from up close? In primaeval Habachtal Valley in the heart of Hohe Tauern National Park, red deer and roe deer are fed by the national park rangers. Watching the mighty deer and young fawns at close range, yet in their wild habitat, is a truly thrilling experience. Don’t miss out on this!

Après-Ski

The famous après-ski is part and parcel of any winter holiday in the mountains. Hot music, cool drinks and animated conversation are sure to let you truly relax again. Skiers and snowboarders can find this in the ski lodges, winter hikers in the valley and near the gondola lifts on the mountain. But everyone can meet up in the cosy bars and snowbars in town.

But if after an eventful day you would prefer to enjoy music and drinks in a quieter setting, why not simply make your way back to our country hotel and take a seat before the open fireplace to recall the day’s events once more - a peaceful and cosy way to end the day.
